How do I go about applying for this job? I really want to work at this facility.

Hi everybody. I would really appreciate some advice.

I have recently graduated and am going to be taking the NCLEX-RN in about a week. I was looking at local SNFs/LTC facilities, and there is this one near me that I really would love to work for, and always have thought about it. It is close and in a very nice area, they are involved with the community, and after researching it, I get a great vibe from it. They recently had a posting for a RN and I guess it was there for about a month but it is not there anymore. This facility requires you to bring in a resume and a filled out application from their website to their HR office (I will include a cover letter as well). The DON's name and e-mail address is listed on this website.

My question is, even though the job posting is not there anymore, is it still ok to apply anyways for a future RN position? And would it be fine to send my resume and cover letter to the DON through her e-mail in addition to submitting everything in person to HR, that way I can stand out somehow?
