Hello,
I'm about 13 weeks away from graduation( well, prayerfully) and 2 weeks ago I asked a few instructors for Letters of recommendation that I must have by mid October for a possible prospect. With October rapidly approaching how do I give a gentle reminder for them to give me the letter. Should I remind them a week before its' due? I know my LOR is not their priority due to their busy schedule so I know I need to be patient. On the same token I also need these letters. Any advice?
-Thanks for all you do for us nursing students.

I would remind them now. They are very busy and may have completely forgotten. Just send a simple e-mail request respectfully written, such as "This is just a reminder for the letter of recommendation that I will need by Oct ____. Thank you so much in advance."

Yes, remind them now. I'd think they'd want to get the letters done now so they don't forget before the letters are needed. They are no doubt busy, but they will do it, since that's what instructors do...

A reminder is certainly in order - as mentioned above, an email reminder is effective and is not considered (by at least all the instructors I work with) as intrusive.
