Okay, so I'm pretty new to Agency nursing.
I've worked six eight hour shifts in the past month. I need to work JUUUST a bit more than that.
I'm only signed up with one agency currently; I'm interviewing with another on Thursday, and I'd
like to get with one more. The agency that I'm currently with gets me scheduled ahead of time for
a hospital near me. Getting scheduled ahead of time is nice, but I get cancelled more than I actually
work.
What do I need to do to get more work? I'm only doing agency right now because I just can't
seem to find anything full-time right now. If I'm signed up with 3-4 agencies, are my odds pretty
good that I'll get to work about every night that I want to?
Like I said, I'm new... someone give me some advice, please. :) I need to know the best
way to get plenty of hours while only doing agency work.

I would say go with more than one agency. Most people I know that only work agency have more than one. I don't currently have a permanent job either. I will be starting a per diem job with an agency and I'm concerned about not getting enough work or getting canceled a lot so I'm going to sign up with 2 other agencies just in case.
good luck

Sign up with another agency. You get taxed more but that's life.
Also ask ur agency to call you first for appropriate jobs. Also ask them to send you everywhere - like public & private hospitals, nursing homes, etc.
But be warned: if you ask to go to many different places, you may have to travel more to get the experience you need. I had to actually move to a different state to get my experience.
