I am in college right now, and want to apply to an Accelerated BSN-MSN program.
I am thinking of getting the CNA (Nursing Assistant Certificate), but am wondering how I would get that.
Would it be better if I get a CNA, work as an assistant for 1 year, and then apply? That way I can make my application unique somehow (with experience).
Is there a set amount of years that you have to be a CNA? Hopefully I can complete this online somehow...
Thanks for any information! :)

Welcome to the site.
Make sure you check out the CNA/PCT forum on Allnurses.
You can get your CNA certificate after you successfully complete a course approved by the state you live in and after you pass the written and skills exam. I got my CNA after I passed an 8 week course and passed the skill and written exam.
