Hi everyone!
I'm going to be taking the TEAS test in July (in 2 months :uhoh21:) and I really want to get a good passing score on this test as I will be applying for nursing school in a couple of months so I really don't want to retake the test.
I've been looking at the questions on the testprepreview website but I haven't studied becuase I'm waiting for this semester to be over in 2 weeks so I can have time to study all day.
Any advice on how to score high on the test?
Any methods you can use? (books?)
How long did you study for before taking the test?
What was your score?
Thanks!

I'm considering taking it at the end of the month and I just cracked open the study guide last night. I'll say I'm kind of surprised how basic the questions seem. With any standardized test, you are studying the format and basic tips/tricks to taking standardized tests. The knowledge the test is testing is already within you, you just need to be able to convey that knowledge on the test.I bought the official study guide because I figured it'd be the best at showing me the format and types of questions.

I used the official ATI TEAS V Study Guide and studied for approximately two months before I took the test. Of course, I'm 47 so I had been out of school for a few years ;P so I had to refresh some basic chemistry and algebra knowledge too. For the last two weeks, I focused completely on the science portion since that was my weakest area. I ended up scoring in the 99th percentile. An acquaintance of mine didn't study at all, saying she heard you "can't study for this test" (approximately same age as me, I might add) and she scored in the mid-70s. Studying does pay off. Good luck to you both!!

I used the ATI study book. I got it from their website but Amazon and some other book sellers carry it too. They sell practice tests online on the ATI site but I didn't think they were that helpful. The book is tougher than the online tests.
I just took it one page at a time and reviewed EVERYTHING. Even if you think you know the material, you don't know the test. Part of doing well is knowing what the test is like and how it's structured.
The ATI study book has 2 practice tests so after you go through all the review material, do both tests. Make sure you go through their answer sheet that explains why the answers were the right answers. That way you understand where you went wrong and can keep those issues in mind.
The other big thing to look out for is TIME. I didn't think there was enough time for the math and english tests and when they called that 5 minutes were left in each section, I still had a few to go through. You cannot go back to a section after the time has passed. So if you had 5 or 7 left to answer, that's it. You can't go back even if you finish another section with 30 minutes to spare.
So if you commit to studying all the material, familiarize yourself with the test, and work fast and mindful of the time, I think you can do well. I scored an 89% which is in the 99th percentile.

It's called "ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS V) Study Manual". You can buy it for $44 (plus shipping) on the ATI Testing website. I see it on Amazon and Barnes and Noble for about $61. It is a soft cover book and is not available as an e-book as far as I know. On the ATI site they also sell a bundle for $88 which comes with the study book plus 2 online practice tests. I didn't find the online tests helpful so if you want to save money the book is all you need. There are 2 practice tests in the book with much tougher questions.

Yes, I have plenty advise on how to do well on the TEAS. I got a 91 on my first and only try and studied for just over two weeks straight. I highly recommend getting the TEAS V Study package that can only be purchased at http://www.atitesting.com/ati_store/product.aspx?zpid=1194. It is critical you get this one as it comes with two online practice tests.
