How do you get your first nursing job, when everyone in NY wants experience?

Hey my fellow RN's,

So I have recently passed boards. And I am having a hard time finding a job. Its only been two weeks. But I have been looking and applying everyday. I write down all the places I apply to and I follow up a week after applying. Most places all just want experienced nurses. I understand but what about the nurses who will take their places, We need work as well.

Does anyone a good place to start, that not afraid of New Grads????

What did you do for your first nursing job?

BTW: I have two friends in hospitals that put in good word and I even know someone high up and still nothing. I dont expect the job to fall in my lap, I am actively searching.

What did you guys do to find work? Or do we all just wait for that one magic phone call?

I started working at a time when it wasn't locked down. I worked before I knew I passed the boards as a GN.

Now, really even though I don't have a BSN I don't have a problem finding work.

I write a sparkling, engaging cover letter.
