Suspended without pay/ Pending Investigation
Thank you For your response. After working for 5 years and cruising through nursing and finally getting adjusted, I didn’t expect this. But I have had time to think and just not panic. It very stressful. The careers we have can easily consume your life. I had to realize it’s not over and I am also more than just a nurse. I have taken time to venture out with other things. I am still on hunt for a job that fits me this time around. thank you

Suspended without pay/ Pending Investigation
Hello Nurses, I am a RN that worked on a Med-Surg unit. I have been suspended for arguing with a Nursing Assistant. It was a verbal disagreement regarding care If the patient. The patient was left soiled for almost an hour while I cared for other patients. This person knowingly left the patient this way. long story short ...this aid went to HR and told a lot of lies and added thing to her story. Now I am basically waiting for them to tell me I’m fired officially. My union is fighting but it doesn’t seem good. I have lost weight, cry every single day and have fallen into a deep depression. I am meeting with a physiologist in a few days. I try to keep busy and look for other jobs but even with good news I still feel sad and like my career is tarnished badly. I'm also afraid of having termination on my record. It’s terrifying that this could all go left so quickly. I question being a nurse. I was wrong to go back and forth but I just was very passionate in the moment for my patients care. (I ended up cleaning her and making sure she was okay) Has anyone faced a termination on record for unprofessional conduct? I need some advice and just support.

Should I take a job in Nursing home
My identity wasn't stolen I just got reported dead by mistake. It's the stupidest thing. I went to get it fixed the other day. The background check ppl couldn't go through with the process and after being on the phone with them for an hour we figured it out.

New nurse stuck on verge of homelessness
Wow at least we are not alone and what I did in nursing school was support my fellow nurses and classmates. I am keeping it positive knocking down each barrier and thinking outside the box.

New nurse stuck on verge of homelessness
Thank you everyone I have gathered all your advise and have been putting it to use. Also seeing what my options are. I am feeling less hopeless and have been up and going. Especially from the helpful post. Does anyone know anything about accidentally being reporting deceased to social security? im thinking this is also effecting my employment background check at the moment.

Should I take a job in Nursing home
Hi and thank you for your concern I really appreciate all the feed back that is given to me. I initially wanted to turn down the job but am in the process now of taking it. I am still facing eviction and have run into another problem. It's almost like I am being plagued with bad luck. I went to go through the background check at the ltc I did not want to work at. And it would not go through. It turns out someone or an error occurred and I was accidentally reported dead to the social security administration. So now I am in the process of having that reversed because I am clearly alive.

New nurse stuck on verge of homelessness
I don't know how I am going to survive and look for a nursing job. I have been doing the online applications like every other 1,000 applicants. I know it would be easier and better to go in face to face. It's sd to say I have no money to get to these hospitals. I have drained all of my resources and it's the struggle of making through my last semester of nursing school. I got to a traditional college where they don't have a lot of classroom times. Making it harder to work. My job couldn't keep me and work with my schedule. Mi have tried to get part time jobs but when they see I graduate in 2 months don't want to waste their time training me. After I graduated a month ago...the retail job definetly want nothing to do with me. Everyday I get up hungry and pushing to put my degree to use. I just feel so discouraged. When all I want to do is help people I can't even do that.

Should I take a job in Nursing home
I think what I will do is go and get more information on nurse to patient ratio, and my specific job duty, also how much support I will have after orientation.
