CNA classes are not very expensive so perhaps that would be something to consider doing on your own or through a long term care facility. I have to tell you that just because a job is posted does not mean that the hospital is in any rush to fill that position. Also sometimes they hire from within. Just keep trying and good luck!
the unit secretary positions in my city require cna certification, so perhaps in your area they require it as well. that could be an explanation as to why you have not received any return calls.
there are medical lab assistant courses which range from a few semesters for basic education and tasks, to more advanced education medical lab technologist and other more advanced opportunities. check out your local community college and see what types of classes and programs are offered within the health care field :)

Hello,
I have a bachelor's degree in Finance, but no healthcare experience. I would like to make a career change, and transition into healthcare.
How do I go about getting a certification... for example to be a lab tech?
I'm willing to get some schooling, but don't know where, and don't think I want to start a 2 year program to get an RN.
thx:confused:
