Your pathophysiology or Med/Surg texts should have good information on how anemia is related to fatigue. As for the second part, think of it this way: how do you feel when you are fatigued? How does it affect your mental and emotional state? That should get you started. Best of luck on your assignment! :heartbeat

Long story short: insufficient oxygen. Your and your textbooks can take it from here. Good luck!

Your red blood cells carry oxygen throughout your body. If you have low rbc's, you have less O2 getting to your tissues.

Hey JB..... it was sweet of you to help....but I think every other post was a polite way of saying here is a hint....now do your own work!:clown:

The "briefly explain" part in the OP's post cracked me up. Love when they just put the dang homework question up.

Yeppers...go have a little look in your pathophys book or try check out your whatever you use for nursing diagnoses (love Ackley for this stuff).

Why am I being attacked for putting it up there? I didn't go into any great depth.

We weren't attacking you.

Many of us did or are doing our nursing school work on our own. You learn more that way.

There have been many posts throughout the years which basically said: "Here's my HW assignment Q, please answer."

In all of those posts you will see the same kind of "Hint." "Now go do your own work!" responses.

Even a short answer like yours may have been all this student needed for the assignment.

Then clearly we need to direct all incoming math questions to the calculations book. Even if the OP got the answer she needed, why is it a problem to all of you that I gave it to her, when it doesn't bother me? You should have just left my post alone instead of pointing out what I did wrong. If you think the OP should be looking up the answer his or herself, then tell them that.

I honestly don't think FLMOM meant it as an attack at all (look at her wording, she called you sweet) -- and certainly non one else did. Sounded much more like friendly advice about people posting homework questions. When the others "quoted" FLMOM's post they were agreeing with her sentiments regarding the OP not you helping them.

No one minds anyone helping but it can be quite cheeky when people post questions on which they have not made any attempt.

Although if you hang around ANurses a bit you may have a few cross words with people -- it happens.
