How far in advance would you start studying for the TEAS?

Published

I think I read that you can only take it once every 6 months. I'm curious, how far in advance do you recommend taking it before an application is due? And, when should I start studying - 2 months, 3 months? Thanks!

I'd say you should start studying about 2-3 months before the test. That's about the best timeframe for retention and mastery of the material. The key is to practice with as many sample questions as you can get your hands on, plus running through at least 2 simulated tests.

Wow, I found out I had to take it on a thursday and took it the following wednesday so I would say I studied for 4 or 5 days. I did pretty well.

I'm just starting to prepare for it. I plan to take it at the end of the semester. For my school, they recently switched from the NET to the TEAS V and taking the TEAS V is by invitation only. You've got to apply to the program and have your grades evaluated and then they will tell you if you should sit for the TEAS.

Deadline is June 15th for Spring 2011 so I'm riding on doing well to get in for Spring.

How often you can take it depends on the program you plan to apply to.

A month should be fine. Actually 2-3 weeks better. Longer you study, the more the burnt out you may feel.
