HiI have been a nurse for about a year now. I started out with dialysis nursing but I have ALWAYS been interested in case management. I was offered a job that was similar to case management but at the time I could not take the job. I am now working on a med surg floor with hopes of becoming a case manager soon. I just wanted to know if I am on the right path? what other suggestions do you all have?

The CCM exam and ANCC's Case Management Nurse exam require work experience to be eligible to take the exams.
Many nurses without case management experience have went on to take the CPHM exam from McKesson.
You can find more information about the CPHM at the Case Management forum:
To locate possible jobs do a google search on: "workers compensation case management" and "workers compensation insurer" The workers compensation case management will bring up at least a few companies who hire nurse case managers. The search on insurers will give you information on some workers compensation companies. These companies may hire internal case managers. If now, you can ask for a workers compensation claims adjuster and ask them what companies they use for case management services. You can then contact those companies to find out if they are hiring.
