I have three semesters left to complete the RN to BSN program and I want to go to NP school ASAP.
How early can you start applying to NP school. I'd like to have a game plan laid out. Three semesters is not that long, in the bigger scheme of things.

I just graduated from a BSN program in May and I'm beginning part-time study in a NP program this fall. I applied to my school in early September and I found out I was accepted about 2 weeks before Christmas. I think it depends on the school as to when to apply. Since when I applied I was not yet a graduate of my program, the school that I'm beginning at accepted me contigent upon my graduation. On the other hand, two other schools that I applied to would not even look at my application until I sent them my final transcript from my BSN program. I would look into each school you want to apply to and see how their admission process works. Luckily for me, my #1 choice was the school that would offer me acceptance before graduating.. In my opinion, apply as early as you can.. I found it to be stressful trying to get letters of recommendations and writing a essay for admissions.. I felt very relieved once everthing was in order and my application was submitted.. Best of luck!!

It really depends on the program. Some programs have rolling admissions and accept or decline students as the applications come in. Other programs have set deadlines for admission. For example, for admission to a program for Fall 2009, the deadline for application may be March 20, 2009. If you want to be considered for financial aid, it may be even earlier, so make sure that you really pay attention to the deadlines.
You can choose to submit your application as early as you want. The earlier you start working on it, the better. It does take a lot of time to put together a well-written statement of purpose. It is also good to give your references plenty of time to write the letters of recommendation. I believe that I applied in November 2006 before I started grad school in the fall of 2007. Good luck!
So...I guess there is no harm in starting to apply now? I have already had to file an intent to graduate form from the university for the bachelor's degree.

MM,
As Healthy said, it really depends on the program. Check the program you wish to apply to, and see if they accept applications early, or if you have to wait until a certain date to apply. Also check the program to see what you will need to include in your application packet. Usually, it includes a statement of purpose (for the program you want to enter), a current CV or resume, a writing sample (use your best APA style article from one of your BSN classes), references, transcripts, possibly a background check, and GRE scores if needed to get into the program. Remember that you will need to send your updated transcripts after you graduate from the BSN program as well.
