Hi guys! I just want to know how difficult is the NCLEX for LPN/LVNs? What are the main points to focus on?
You can find the NCLEX PN test plan/ outline on the NCSBN or Pearson website.
Difficulty is relative. A candidate with a strong clinical & theory background, good critical thinking adaptive skills and a confident test taker will find the test easier than a student who struggled through the PN program and has significant test anxiety.
You can find the detailed test plan for candidates here:
In my honest opinion, NCLEX-PN was not as bad as people made it out to be. Some people will claim it is the hardest test they've ever taken, but I didn't think it was all that bad.
As a previous poster mentioned, we all bring different levels of academic ability, preparation, confidence, and test anxiety to the table. The important point is that 85 percent of test takers who were educated in the U.S. pass NCLEX-PN on the first attempt.
I took it twice. The first time I breeze thru it because i hardly studied. The second time I did about 2 months of studying. However when it came to the exam I felt like I was guessing. I could hardly tell what I had right for sure. So many SATAs. Overall it was a hard test. For me at least.
