Hello! I am applying to Marymount University's Second Degree Nursing Program. I would like to know if anyone knows as to how competative it is to get into it? Like what is the avg GPA or Teas test scores. I have not head much about this school- except for what I have read here on allnurses. I'm trying to figure out if it is worth my time to finish the application process. I have called the admissions and financial aid office to try to find out all kinds of info- but neither were very helpful. I do realize this school is very expensive to attend. So I am wondering do many people not apply b/c of the cost- therefore increasing my chances of getting in. Let me know if you know any info- THANKS

I am a student there now. Yes they are incredibly competitive and expensive. As you can see by my name, the program at Marymount is no joke. Be prepared for the hardest struggle of your life. But now that I am finishing, I see the benefit as hospitals recognize the Marymount educated nurse as a quality nurse. Any specific questions?

I'm not sure how competitive the program is but I was accepted there for the accelerated program (Fall 2005). My overall gpa was around 3.1, when I applied before I finished my first degree. I decided not to go there because they don't provide housing for students over 21 years old, I don't live in VA so there was no way I could possible attend; since you really can't work during the accelerated program. I wasn't impress with their NCLEX pass rates for first time testers either.
