My NS in Canada only requires that you have a 63% to pass a nursing class and a 50% for an elective - BSCN degree. How come the passing grades for nursing school are usually like a 75 - 80% in the States? I would seriously fail if I had to have an 80% to pass every nursing class!
How are the grading scales for other people in Canada who are going to nursing school? Is my school the exception or something? My friend's nursing school only requires you to have a 60% to pass nursing classes in her BSCN degree.
Hmmm, maybe its a provincial thing or something
apples and oranges......i graduated from a HS that used the 60-100 scale.....and was respected for its graduates.....my nursing school also used the 60-100 scale....respected for its graduates......i have said here at AN before....any test can be constructed to get a higher or lower score.....and there is also the grade inflation that one person spoke of, where that 4.0 is really closer to a 3.2 (or whatever)...

I've always wondered about the US marking system. It seems as everyone down there is a 3.9 or a perfect 4.0. I've some very bright co-workers but only one had a 4.0 and was really quiet about it.
