How do you clean the machine?

Featured Replies

Personally I clean the pulseOx probe, BP cuff and stethoscope diaphragm all with a tuffie hospital grade wipe

We have the wipes with the purple lid.

talk to biomed. They have the mfg. user manuals. In my facility the Infection Control nurse, Biomed and Housekeeping Director (who orders clearning supplies) get together and decide the best product.

We use disposable BP cuffs for each patient and clean the pluseox with an alcohol pad. I have forgotten to clean the pulse ox before but when I try hard to remember and remember more times than not. I don't wipe down the entire machine after each patient, nor do I wipe down the med carts between patients, nor have I ever seen anybody do that. But they do need routine cleaning.

Our cleaner had CHG and some other stuff in it. My favorite cleaner id a product called TB Quant. I like it because it really gets stains and blood out easily. But mostly we use the CHG stuff.

We use these too. White container, purple lid. We use disposable bp cuffs. So we toss them after the pt leaves. Clean pulse ox after each pt with the wipe. We have a little basket attached to the machine that the tub of wipes sits in.
