I have a BSN but I'm 36years old and have never worked in a hospital. Is it too late for me? I don't feel like I can compete with 22 year old new grads. I can't even get a call back and I've been applying to hospitals all over the area. I'm feeling so discouraged and don't know what else to do. Feel like I've wasted a lot of time becoming a nurse. Is there any way a person like me can stand out among a sea of younger nurses?
Keep trying to look but expand outward...nursing jobs are scare. As a new grad it is worse...you cost to much to train and orient. While your looking, try to get a job in LTC. Even LTC is hard now with all the budget issues. Keep the faith and be flexible...very flexible and something should open up.

I'm 29 (28 when I graduated and got licensed). I finally just got hired. I'm working in a LTC/subacute that is affiliated with some hospitals because I couldn't get hired at the hospitals themselves. In a year I can bid for a hospital job. That might work out for you.
