How to boost self again after failing?

Published

Guyz need your help on this. So i just knew i failed cuz i did quick result this morning. Sad but what to do? I guess just move on and do better on the next try. What should i do now? Should i study right away? Or have a break first..? And should i register again now? Or later. Please help me cuz im a little lost. :( thanks guyz

Only you can determine if you need to jump in and study or take a break. We all grieve differently. If you feel you can set a schedule and specific study plan to improve your gray areas while comprehending the material, then by all means go for it. If you feel the need to take a few days to cry and cleanse your soul, please take the time to do so.

Whatever you chose, you just need to get past this phase at YOUR own time. I posted the following message to you in a previous thread when you said, "I know I tried my best but it's not good enough to pass." I hope it boost your spirit and let you know how special you are and how much your service is needed and will be appreciated as a nurse. :)

Your best WAS good enough and it will be better next time. When we try our best, that's more than enough and all we can give until we know what our deficiencies are. Once we zero in and expound upon correcting those deficiencies, we try our best again. With time, our best gets better and eventually results in EXCELLENCE! Second, third, or fourteenth examinees become better and subsequently EXCELLENT nurses. best wishes!

Take a break. One week maximum. Then get back to studying but a different game plan. You didn't make it the first time but that's in the past now, look forward to retaking it and passing the second time around. Good luck!

Hello, i took my exam last aug 10 and also did the pvt... Got cc page! Sigh i ll just do better next time

Thank you so much guyz for the good words :) I'll take a break this week and will continue studying next week :D Hmm btw should I register again now?? or what is my next step?? :D

Here is my advice to anyone that has failed NCLEX RN! For one NEVER give up. You see, I failed NCLEX 3 times! After I graduated, I moved out of state, went through a bad breakup etc...I wasn't mentally prepared to take it but I did. I did nothing but ATI question after question. When I took the test and failed the first time I was devastated!!! The second and third time I was besides myself! However, the secret was that instead of feeling sorry for myself I researched what others used! For my fourth attempt which by the way the computer shut off at 75 questions and I had 16 SATA, 2 drop and drag and the rest prioritization. I studied the following MUST HAVE RESOURCES 1. Linda Lacharitys PDA!!! I read it TWICE!!!! 2. Kaplan's NCLEX strategies 2012-2013! Read it TWICE doing both practice tests and writing down the questions I missed! 3. ATI RN NCLEX REVIEW book. And lastly the HURST REVIEW. I do not believe that just doing questions is the answer IF YOU WEAK IN CONTENT! I chose to hammer away content for my fourth attempt instead of doing a ton of questions and it worked for me. YOU CAN NOT MEMORIZE this stuff!!! Must know it "without a doubt or hesitation"!!! Best of luck

I prepared myself a lot. I would get off work 2 hours early for like 2 weeks, then the last week I left work 4 hrs early to study (4 hours was good...we don't want to over do it) and go and review Kaplan 2012-2013 Nclex review book, i learned the decision tree, the type of questions and how to eliminate them, and did some of their practice questions. I did take the Kaplan on line class right after I finished school- it was $500...however, once you take the course you have to do the study plan it suggests you to do...review the content it has...do q bank questions for practice...and the most helpful of all do the questions with the instructor (they have during the course and a pre-recorded video to do it after the course)...she goes through many questions with you showing you how to choose the best answer..finally, review your most common labs and know the norms. Learn the ABG's when its respiratory or metabolic alkalosis or acidosis, and most common abnormal EKG such as A.fib, a flutter so on...oh..brush up on your math..do not take it unless you have reviewed the main things and the most important thing of all ask God for clarity, for wisdom, to free you from confusion...do this while preparying yourself during your studies, and of course before..during..and after the test thank GOD!!!
