  1. Here is my advice to anyone that has failed NCLEX RN! For one NEVER give up. You see, I failed NCLEX 3 times! After I graduated, I moved out of state, went through a bad breakup etc...I wasn't mentally prepared to take it but I did. I did nothing but ATI question after question. When I took the test and failed the first time I was devastated!!! The second and third time I was besides myself! However, the secret was that instead of feeling sorry for myself I researched what others used! For my fourth attempt which by the way the computer shut off at 75 questions and I had 16 SATA, 2 drop and drag and the rest prioritization. I studied the following MUST HAVE RESOURCES 1. Linda Lacharitys PDA!!! I read it TWICE!!!! 2. Kaplan's NCLEX strategies 2012-2013! Read it TWICE doing both practice tests and writing down the questions I missed! 3. ATI RN NCLEX REVIEW book. And lastly the HURST REVIEW. I do not believe that just doing questions is the answer IF YOU WEAK IN CONTENT! I chose to hammer away content for my fourth attempt instead of doing a ton of questions and it worked for me. YOU CAN NOT MEMORIZE this stuff!!! Must know it "without a doubt or hesitation"!!! Best of luck
  2. Ben Franklin didn't invent the light bulb. It was Thomas Edison :)
  3. I think VATI is a WASTE!!! I paid over $300 for it and all your coach does is give you MORE AND MORE AND MORE practice codes! She will then assign you homework that you just cut and paste. After you submit the answers, she will post an already made answer key. I think ATI is OK at best!! I passed my RN predictor and was given the green light and still failed boards 3x's.
  4. Here is something that has kept me going since December when I finished nursing school and failed my boards 3 times. Thomas Edison failed 10,000 times before he invented the light bulb!!! And that is what he said when they asked him about that… “I haven’t failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that don’t work.” – Thomas Edison So approach the NCLEX much like Thomas Edison approached inventing the light bulb! You HAVENT FAILED! You have just successfully discovered one way not to pass NCLEX!!! Don't give up. For if you do, then and only then have you really failed! :)
  5. To all of you that failed, you are not alone! For one you are not stupid. This test is more of a GAME than anything. I have taken the test 3 times and have been unsuccessful. Talk about feeling like a dumb ass!! I even tutored my friends in nursing school and they ALL passed on the first time 3 of them in 75 questions. I retake the test in August. But just to point out a little fact about how the nclex isn't about intelligence, I finished my last semester of nursing school while attending graduate school for my MBA at the SAME TIME!! Yes insanity!!! You must NEVER give up #1. Part 2 find out what works for YOU! After i failed the third time, i decided to do hurst online, read Linda Lacharity's PDA, The KAPLAN NCLEX RN 2012-2013 strategies book and next week I'm starting on Saunders. The test is about DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE QUESTION IS ASKING? After three unsuccessful attempts, it wasn't my CORE knowledge that was the issue. It was the fact that I wasn't trained on how to answer the questions. Therefore, I strongly suggest renting the Kaplan nclex RN 2012-2013 strategies book Once I started to read that book I realized that I was falling for the "distractor" answers. That book teaches you HOW TO TAKE THE TEST!!!! I strongly recommend you start there. Best of luck. You will get it!
  6. Thank you! Too many resources to pick from.
  7. Greetings everyone, So after my third unsuccessful attempt at NCLEX, I realized that my issue was not core content as I have HURST down to a science but rather it was assessment and delegation. Therefore, I got the PDA book by Linda Lacharity. But my question goes a bit further as I'm torn. I retake NCLEX in 5 weeks. What is everyones thoughts on KAPLAN NCLEX RN 20012-2013 strageties book and also Saunders 5th edition. I'm becoming overwhelmed with resources and have wasted my time already on more and more ATI questions and NCLEX for dummies which I think was a total waste. Please give me some advice. :0
  8. Good Morning Everyone: So after doing the PVT (pearson vue trick) yesterday, I realized that I failed NCLEX for the third time!! I'm so frustrated I could scream! I know that I'm far from stupid as I have 3 college degrees, but I just can't seem to get over the hump with this test. I've done a million ATI questions, online Hurst review and even attended a Hurst Live review. What am I doing wrong??? First test I had 126 questions, second 261, and this last time 265. All my friends have passed on the very first try and they barely studied!! Someone recommend the Linda LaCharity PDA book. Does that really help??? I think I'm having a hard time with "which patient would you see first?" If anyone could help I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm starting to lose motivation to keep studying another six weeks.
