There's a nurse educator's forum here:

Also check out the post-graduate nursing forum:

Honestly, though, 10-15 years is a long time down the road and a lot of things can change. You never know where you'll find your niche or what opportunities will open up for you once you're an RN.

Hey,
I plan on going to school for nursing and should be an RN i about 3 years and after that i would like to get my Bachelors in nursing. And down that road i plan on working for about 2-3 years as a RN, and then go to school to become an NP. I would be doing this full time hopefully at a local hospital, for no longer then 10-15 years. By then i should have a pretty good life and a good understanding of nursing and the human body.
So after all that time spent i want to be an educator, and since a good chunk of my my life has been dedicated to nursing. It makes since on becoming a college nursing professor.
Here are my questions
How does a NP become a professor?
Can i become a CNA, LPN, RN or Np professor or is their additional schooling for each one?
How much does the Avg. Professor work a week?
How much does the Avg. Professor Make an hour/month or even annually?
What do colleges look at when hiring a professor?experience or education?
And lastly How were your relationships with your nursing teachers?
Thank you very much for taking the time and reading and or answering these questions.
