you could send in an application however you may find if you can't meet rn requirements you may not meet lpn requirements as training is still general. this is on the crnns website

complete part i of the application for licensing in nova scotia and submit it directly

to the college of licensed practical nurses of nova scotia (clpnns) with:

the non-refundable evaluation fee, in canadian funds is $200.00 if you are not

applying to the college of registered nurses of nova scotia (crnns) for a

license.

or:

if you made initial application to the college of registered nurses of nova

scotia (crnns), you may request the crnns to have your completed

documents transferred to clpnns then the evaluation fee is $100.00 in

canadian funds. if your application is not completed and you are not deemed

eligible for a license with crnns then the evaluation fee will remain at $200.00.

any reason why you don't go for rn?

I applied to the CRNNS omly tp be told i needed to do the SEC assessment which i did in BC in November. They have since told me i need to do the re-entry program which i am currently appealing to do online as i cant leave my job and family to study in BC for a year. I am very eager to get live and work in canada and will do anything possible. This is why i was enquiring about applying as a LPN. Would i still be able to have my documents forwarded from the CRNNS as they want me to the SEC? Silverdragon i have sent you a PM as i would really appreciate your advice.

Thanks.

Sorry, wrote this in a rush.

Amelia, you may just have to do what generations of immigrants before you did. Move and struggle to gain your credentials while living here.

That's what my family did back in the 1960's. My father had years of experience in his trade but went to the bottom of the union seniority board when we moved here. I remember my struggling for their first five years here. My mother never did go back to school.

Hi Fiona

So if me and my family came over and i did the re-entry program would my husband be eligable for a working visa so that he can support us while studying? He is a care worker in mental health.

Thank you for your reply

Amelia, i will answer your pm, have been working. If you come over on a study visa then according to the cic website your husband will get a visa allowing him to work but once your visa is up so is his

Thanks i appreciate it. I just hope i win my appeal and i get to do the re-entry online. Once i complete the course (if i did it in canada), would i have to return to england or would i be able to get a working visa. Sorry i only know about immigration regarding the skilled worker route and even that is a bit of a mine field. Obviously we couldnt stay in canada if we couldnt work.

If you get a job and employer gets a LMO you can apply for a work permit online and I think work as implied status until you get an answer but you will need to check up on that.

Thanks, still would love your advice silverdragon about my whole situation as i describe in my pm to you, i appreciate that you work.
