to be a good nurse oyu must be caring responsible tidy smile most of the time put yourself in the patients shoes at all times to understand why they act the way they sometimes do and be compassionate

You need to be thick skinned, non-judgemental (at least in public:D) be accurate, have common sense by the bucket full, be quick-thinking, fast moving, able to take the tirades of a sick patient or worried relative without letting it get to you personally, have a good support network back home (to cope with the former), enjoy your job, accept that bad shifts happen & don't dwell on them, be empathetic and understanding, have the ability to be assertive at times, save your screams for somewhere away from the ward itself, be very organised, be methodical and be a good learner because the learning never, ever stops!

That's just for starters. It's a great job but it's not easy for all sorts of reasons.

All the best to you, ultimately just do the best you can at all times. No-one can ask more than that & for those that do - take up a martial art like karate & use them as your imaginary partner & punch their lights out!! Hehehehe - figuratively speaking of course!!! Guess what I did this morning??
