Anybody here from there second choice at Memorial Hermann TMC Children’s for an interview?

My first choice was med/surg or women's services at Ben Taub. Sounds like just LBJ has sent out notices so far.

If you got a rejection from MH were you told you were an alternate and could possibly be hired as late as end of June and to stay in touch with recruiter?

Same. I sent the recruiter an email thanking him for the note, affirming that MH (and that specific department) was my first choice, and that I am still very interested in the position if things don't work out w/ the current candidate.

I don't think so? Because 1) I interviewed with a panel of 4 Med-Surg departments that were all hiring and my rejection stated that I was an alternate for a specific floor/unit. 2) I also had another MH interview for Mother/Baby and haven't heard back.

It seems like if they told everyone that they were an alternate, then they wouldn't have specified the particular unit that I was an alternate for... but rather kept it open-ended. Also, if everyone was an alternate, then why wasn't I told that I was also an alternate for mother/baby?

Just my thoughts. I suppose there could be several alternates per department. And who knows... with the way things are unfolding right now with COVID-19, that may actually be a smart move on their part. Lots of things are very fluid right now... some of us may have delayed graduations, some of us may choose to move closer to family, etc. Plus... if this shortage gets worse, I suppose it's possible that hospitals increase the number of new grads they hire.

Have anyone who received interview invite from Harris Health and have responded, gotten a confirmation email regarding their interview?
