Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2020

Updated:   Published

Starting a thread about Houston Nurse Residency programs that open this month/next to start in June/July!

Has anyone interviewed for med surg or telemetry? Any advice?

For those who applied to TCH,

So my application still says “received submission” but I haven’t gotten any emails since I sent in my documents for the application in February. I also haven’t gotten a rejection email yet either so I don’t know if that means I’m still being considered or not! I read earlier that someone had contacted the recruiter last week and she was told that they were done interviewing/making decisions. Anyone have any ideas on what this means/what I should do? ?

Did anyone here already have interview with Memorial Hermann Sugar land ICU? How was the interview and what kind of questions was asked?

I interviewed with MH Katy ICU, they mostly asked behavioral questions (tell me about a time where...) as well as "tell me about yourself," and "why nursing?"

They also asked me about my strengths, there were no clinical scenario questions.

I know its a different location, but I hope this helps. Good luck to everyone interviewing today!

Best of luck to you! Mine was w general peds just like your friend so I am not sure how similar L&D will be, but I am sure you'll do great!! I have a friend who really wanted L&D, but didn't get it ?

We were asked so many resiliency type questions and why would we be a good fit for the unit.

O M G....I cannot contain my excitement. I hope we all hear back ASAP. Thanks for the heads up! Best of luck ❤️

I just finished my interview! They said hopefully by the end of the week but praying its sooner then that!!

Thank you I just did my interview. Was a lot intense but I didn’t expect less

I just had my interview today with MH Southeast... it went really well. and they said I would be receiving an email today and they even told me who the email would be from... I'm guessing this is good news?!?!? They were super nice.

Oh that’s nice yes I did mine with Sugarland ICU. Was more clinical assessment questions than behavioral for me. Met with my possible preceptor and unit clinical director.

to be honest I dont remember who all I was speaking to, I could barely hear them, so I was mainly speaking to one person. but there was a nurse educator, manager, and someone from the unit. they asked me if I wanted night shift or day shift too.

what type of clinical questions did they ask?

I wonder if anyone got a same day acceptance or rejection email.

I think they ask the same type questions to everyone.... scenario questions like who do you tend to first, and then explain a kind of mistake you have made and what did you do about it

I was asked how to insert NG tune and confirm. What balloon pump was for, amiodarone. Clinical experience experience of a mistake have made before.
