Starting a thread about Houston Nurse Residency programs that open this month/next to start in June/July!

But acute care wasn’t a category when I registered for Methodist so I feel like the prescreening could be for anything at the TMC maybe?
I interviewed with the woodlands location and the TMC location las Thursday. When the interview for TMC began they showed you a list of acute care floors such as the ED, IMU, Orthopedic, etc. The two interviews were very different.

Will do! I’m hoping for some type of update soon. But if she told you by the end of this week, I will keep my fingers crossed for us!

I didn’t get an invite for the TMC on the March 5th event (I only got an invite for Methodist West on that date) so maybe they’re sending out more invites to others as well! ?
I just got one too!

Those of you that are getting your prescreening invites just now - are you from outside of Houston? Because when I went in for my interview, I traveled from San Antonio, and they were like oh WOW! we didn’t realize you’d travel we figured we would reach out to those from out of town and offer FaceTime interviews. So that might be why you’re just getting your prescreening interviews! They didn’t expect those from out of town to travel for the original day, so they planned on reaching out later for an interview via FaceTime or phone

I agree that the interviews from other locations compared to TMC were soooo different. I interviewed with sugar land and felt like it went really really well, I genuinely got to have a convo with a nurse leader from the unit I was applying for. Then with TMC interview, it was a pretty different experience. Got interviewed by a recruiter, not a nurse from the unit, and felt like they were just trying to make it though to the end of the day

Yeah, I am originally from Houston but I go to school OOS at the University of Alabama. That's super nice that they're doing that though, I had no idea they'd try to accommodate people who were outside of town!
I didn’t know they would do that either! I wish I had known, because I had an exam that morning, left immediately after to drive to Houston, did my interview, got back in the car and drove 4 hours home in traffic. It was horrible because I had mandatory class the next morning ? I really wanted to go because I figured I could make a good impression by being there in person, if possible.

LOL I feel you! I never heard back from St Luke’s.... my application says it was “transferred to a similar position” when I check online

Honestly I’m not sure what exactly they’re doing because I sometimes would check back periodically and see that some interview slots freed up I guess some people dropped out/decided for other positions and then I’d go back the next day and see the spots filled again I’m not sure if they’re contacting additional people or something
