Houston Nurse Residency Spring 2022

I wanted to go ahead and start a thread for all the Houston applicants! Where is everyone applying and what units? Would love for us to connect throughout the process. 

Hey guys, 

I just submitted my Harris health application yesterday and I have not yet received my "second part" of the application. From what I've heard, its basically just a survey monkey to complete your background information and then you would just have to email your resume to [email protected]? Do you guys think I should just go ahead and email my resume since the deadline is tomorrow?

Has anyone heard back after step 2 from anywhere? Interviews etc.? I just heard from MD Anderson today they are starting to set up interviews for residency!

Yayyy me too! Congrats!  What unit are tou interviewing for? I have one for unit p11 head&neck/breast surgery.

Does anyone know when Texas Childrens is going to post their residency? Getting so antsy.

unfortunately I don't think they're having a residency program this year.

Texas Childrens is usual the last hospital to open their applications. They’ve opened for the last two cohorts so I don’t see why they wouldn’t have another cohort.

I still haven’t received the behavioral assessment for MH. 
how was the MD Anderson interview?

oh good I hope you're right! I read somewhere on here that someone from HR told them they wouldn't be having a cohort this round because 1) covid and 2) a large cohort in May

MD Anderson interview I felt was ruff. It was my first interview though so maybe thats why. I wasnt expecting sooo many questions and they weren't questions I prepared for.  I was so nervous too!

Oh no! I bet it went better than you think ? What kind of questions did they ask?

HCA asked me the usual: "tell me about yourself", what made you want to be a nurse", "why you over other applicants?", stuff like that. Do you remember any specifics?
