Houston Nurse Residency Spring 2021

Hello! I created this thread for those graduating in December who are applying to nurse residency programs in Houston for the Spring 2021 start date. Good luck everyone!!

If I interviewed for one specialty unit and for a medsurg unit with HCA do I get considered for the medsurg unit if I do not get chosen for the specialty unit ? Do they know what our top choice is out of the two ? Sorry if it’s a dumb question LOL

When interviewing with HCA, did any of yall only interview with the manager and did not have the peer interview with the other nurses on the floor? I only had the interview with the manager and that was it. Did anyone have a similar experience?

I interviewed with two locations & neither was peer.

For me, one was with a peer and manager and the other was with just the manger

@popuchuris I had my interview esterday as well. I noticed you said it was the cardiac unit. I also interviewed for that unit . Do you recall them telling you when theyd let us know we get hired on or not?

No problem!

And thank you but I'm good for now! I just started a position as a pediatric private duty nurse to get some experience while I wait for the next round of applications to open up in Feb.

They said the recruiter would get back to us latest next Wednesday, no matter the decision.

Hey, super sorry for the late reply! But yes, I got both links at the same time, one right after the other for the interview. I hope you ended up getting both your links. That's so weird to hear that everyone had trouble with their interviews, but I hope it works out for ya'll!
