Houston HCA StaRN Spring 2018

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to start a thread for anyone who has applied for the HCA StaRN new graduate residency in Houston for Spring 2018. I know there are a few of us that have been wondering when they were starting to call applicants. Please feel free to share any information regarding the residency program, application status, etc.. I am sure we are all eager to hear something. Best of luck to all applicants!

Hi All, I'd love to hear some feedback regarding your experiences at HCA and the StaRN program. Any feedback would be appreciated.

The Houston resident programs are competitive. They are only accepting BSN now as of 2018. I received an email stating they received over 800 applications for about 50 positions. This is for the starn program with HCA. I didn't qualify this year I only have an associate. However they recommend the Brownsville location. They are accepting ADN. $6500 sign on bonus. They will fly you out to interview for free. I just went and was offered a position.

Can anyone from the Spring StaRN cohort tell me what the pay increase is after the first year? And do you still recommend HCA for a new grad? Thanks!

I also interviewed on sept. 7th for North Cypress Med. The interview went well but havent heard anything back. Has anyone heard anyyhing after the interview ?

To those that were not selected for an interview, I suggest you call the recruiter or email and tell her to please consider you for another hospital. They are pretty nice and will do that.
