Houston Community College- Pharmacology in Fall 2012

Who ever has taken this course, can yall give me more insight about the class. I am trying to prepare for it but I am EXTREMELY nervous because I have not received my books yet; I ordered them online.

Is anyone planning on taking the class this fall as well at HCC? I would love to go into the class knowing someone.. maybe study partners or so.

I know some people have had trouble getting their background checks done... I think it's because of the high volume of applicants applying for it. I did mine in July to make sure there will no problem.... Which there still was. I'm not sure if it was part of the BON or post office but I had to call the BON to make sure everything was ok. The resent my blue card and I received it in September. Phew!

But as far as I understand... *********will have a print out of those who are a-ok and passed their background clearance. I believe she gets it straight from the BON.

So what happens to me whos declatory order might not cone till the 10..do u think they will drop me honestly for being a few days late on that??

I don't think they will drop you since it seems like she'll have a master list of those who passed their background clearance check. BUT!!!! I would email her to explain the situation of how you won't be able to receive it until the 10th; I'm sure you'll get a straight answer on if they'll drop you or not (I don't think they will though)

Btw did the BON tell you that you won't receive it until the 10th or someone else?

I'm sure you'll be ok. You got it done and it isn't your fault of how long it'll take for you to actually receive it. But for anyone trying to get ahold of the secretary of ADN. It seems like we won't hear a reply or anything about registering for classes until 2013. This is in her auto reply:

"HCC will be closed Wednesday, December 19, 2012 thru Monday, January 1, 2013 for Winter Break.

Normal operating hours will resume on Wednesday, January 2, 2013.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

ADN Students - you will receive your informaiton regarding registration by Thursday, I will be finalizing the assignments tomorrow."

I'm sure you'll be ok. You got it done and it isn't your fault of how long it'll take for you to actually receive it. But for anyone trying to get ahold of the secretary of ADN. It seems like we won't hear a reply or anything about registering for classes until 2013. This is in her auto reply:

Ok so check this out.... Supposedly from the ADN advisor/councilor we won't be able to register until Thursday, the 3rd of January (since apparently we didn't get the email last Thursday.) then we have orientation on the 4th.

And classes start that Monday the 7th.. So we have a short period to register, orientation, etc and show up to class.

Igunbor, I believe we have the same classes.... Did you check your email? I just registered for classes. We can only register for Fundamentals and Health assessment. We'll get the registration part for clinicals at a later date.

So... I'm suppose to be starting the adn program in the spring but I'm so confused. I can't register for classes and I haven't taken the Pharmacology test that we have to make a 90 or above on. So do we do everything on the 4th or what? Please help?!?!

There is no way you could have been accepted to start on the 4th with out taking pharm or the math test prior to the start date

Hello guys!! Congrats on passing Pharm. I haven't received my clearance from the BON either and I'm hoping that isn't a problem. I don't start classes until this summer for Med Surg I. We will see what happens on Friday, Jan 4th.
