Houston Community College ADN Spring 2020

Published

Hello everyone:

So I am planning to apply to the HCCS ADN program, but before then I would like some feedback. Does anyone if the program has truly gotten any better after their probationary period for low passing rates? This was the school I was initially interested in, but after further investigation I was not sure if this school was even worth it. If it has gotten better then I would not mind trying to apply. Also, I am not sure if my application for jobs would get looked over because of the school I achieved my degree from.

I applied for UTH Cizik for Fall 2019 but got denied. I am now reapplying and since I finished more classes, I will also apply for TWU, Wharton Sugarland, and possibly HCC (depending on feedback and research).

Any advice and tips are welcomed!

Well you may since I was going to HCC also. Maybe we had a class together or something. I have been on this journey to try and get my nursing for a few years now.

Well it would be awesome if we both got in!

Hey guys I am confused ? Do we create an account and start working on the immunizations and all that with Castle Branch even though we haven't received the acceptance email, or we have to wait till receiving the email?

I did everything except for the flu shot and the nursing clearance card. I think it is best to have it done before then especially for some of the vaccines. You can start off with titers for vaccines and then get the vaccine that you are low on.

I also got my Tdap (good for 10 years) and my PPD (good for 1 year).

I believe it is best to be ahead and ready than wait until the acceptance.

Thank you ?. I got the Tdap in 2013 so still good then, and the Varicella and MMR (2 shots) as well, the only one I am missing is the flu shot and I got the hepatitis B series 1 and 2 about 3 years ago I am no sure if I need to repeat them or just get the third one.

If you have insurance then I suggest just to do your titers. IF you havent had your yearly physical you can request for the dr to add the titer order with your yearly bloodwork. Most insurances cover the titers with the physical.

Has anyone else gotten an email about registering for the fingerprint background? I am pretty sure that it is for HCC and not for any other school I applied to..

Hey guys! I just graduated from HCC and am looking to sell my scrubs. I have the clinical white one and the black one. They both have jackets as well. Let me know! [email protected].
