Hello everyone:
So I am planning to apply to the HCCS ADN program, but before then I would like some feedback. Does anyone if the program has truly gotten any better after their probationary period for low passing rates? This was the school I was initially interested in, but after further investigation I was not sure if this school was even worth it. If it has gotten better then I would not mind trying to apply. Also, I am not sure if my application for jobs would get looked over because of the school I achieved my degree from.
I applied for UTH Cizik for Fall 2019 but got denied. I am now reapplying and since I finished more classes, I will also apply for TWU, Wharton Sugarland, and possibly HCC (depending on feedback and research).
Any advice and tips are welcomed!

HCC's pass rate is now above 90...They are nothing like they were before. I am planning on applying for Fall 2020, because their application deadlines are weird lol.

Thanks you for your response. I appreciate it! I ended up applying. I work as a medical assistant and some of the nurses I know told me to just go ahead and apply either way because jobs dont really check what school you graduate from they just want to know you have skills. I hope I can just start in Spring. I am tired of waiting.
Are you applying to any other schools?
EXACTLY! I am going to apply for ADN and BSN schools. ? Here is my list:
HCC
LONESTAR---I heard they had 600 applicants, and it's extremely competitive
SAN JAC
UH
WOMEN'S
PRAIRIE VIEW
but in order to do the BSN programs, I must re-do AP2 llol

Oh that is great! San Jac and Lonestar is about an hour from me so I did not apply. I did however apply to alvin even though it is 40 min from me.
I applied to HCC, Alvin, UT, TWU, Wharton Sugarland.
What college are you doing your prerequisites at.
I have been working on this for a while! lol ...I only need Microbiology which im taking this semester, then I will apply for the ADN colleges but because their application deadlines I will start Fall 2020...What were your HESI scores? do you have any tips??
I have been with HCC so I think HCC is my pick school! & they are allowing more students. It's crazy to me how there is a shortage of nurses, but not enough nursing schools lol.
I just finished this Spring with HCC, as well. Exactly! I do not understand why they make it so hard to be able to get into a school and give so many requirements. I have to retake my TEAS this week because for TWU thy expire within a year, but for Wharton it is still good. I just want in and get this over with already!
That's awesome girl! I truly wish you the best I hope you get in! ?
OOPS I meant to say I need AP2 Lab! LOL I'm done with Microbiology! P.S. Micro was my FAVORITE class!! so much fun!
I liked AP2! but there was so much content and I did it during the summer...I should've taken it regular term ? lol

I really enjoyed Micro too! MY professors were very thorough with all of the information. AP2 is a lot because you have to understand how everything works but for AP1 it is just more memorization than anything.
Thank you for the well wishes. I really hope everything works out this time around I am accepted. I applied for UTH for Fall 2019 and was not accepted but I know how competitive it can be. I hope everything works out for you, as well. I hope you get accepted on the first try on more than one school.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! You too! Yes UTH is very competitive, but you never know unless you try!

Yes, exactly! All I can do is try in this competitive attempt to become a nurse and save lives.
