Houston Community College- ADN program FALL 2016 Applications

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I see the trend of starting a thread for each new application period and did not see one for the FALL 2016. I am applying for the FALL 2016 program which has a deadline of June 1st. Nervous but excited. My plan is to get accepted and if not to apply to other ADN programs the following Spring 2017. My main reason to apply at HCC was:1) it was in-district and 2.) it offered evening classes.

I am not sure if anyone else has attended any of the recent info sessions but they make the evening program sound confusing. From what I gathered it was based on class availability so there may be times when you will have to take morning classes. I would find this difficult because I am going to be doing the forbidden; school and work.

I have yet to take my HESI but I am one class away from completing my pre-reqs. Well, hopefully we can share more thoughts and questions on what is to come. Good Luck everyone!

Hello everyone, I plan to apply to UTHSC, TWU, UTA, Lone Star, and HCC after I finish my pre-reqs this fall. I attempted to take the Hesi and Teas test but did not score as high as I wanted to. I plan on retaking both exams eventually before applying to the programs. I have attended three colleges throughout my college career and do not have the best GPA at two of them. The school I am currently attending my stats are as follows:

Overall GPA: 2.5

Pre-Req GPA: 3.5

Science GPA: 4.0

So is the HCC program not accredited?

Looks like their pass rate for 2016 was 80%, so perhaps they will get back on track? Such a shame, with their proximity to the Texas Medical Center... Try calling their office, perhaps.

Just found this on the HCC web page--dated Nov 1 2016: Articles | HCC Nursing program is once again enrolling new students | Houston Community College - HCC

Hope this helps.
