Hi again, can anyone tell me if they have worked at LA Children's was the housing provided within walking distance or near public transportation?

I am not taking a car with me and the recruiter knows this, but I am still a bit concerned about being able to get into work on time etc.

Any thoughts about housing in the area of that hospital will be greatly appreciated.

Even if you can recommend a place by name or a specific road etc. that would be even better.

Check out apartments in Downtown LA. Plenty of 3 month rentals. Just buy minimal stuff.

Los Angeles has a surprisingly good public transport system. When you look for housing, check out its proximity to a bus or light rail station, and the commute time to the hospital. Also, L.A. is rather flat and the climate is temperate. Ideal for bicycle commute. I used to commute 8 miles from Santa Monica to my senior nurse aide job at UCLA during nursing school. Easy except for the couple days it rains most winters (this winter being quite the exception).

About the only time I had to use public transit there was to the airport. Rest of the time you are in "It never rains in Southern California" country and heaven for bicycles (I also roller skated the 8 miles a couple of times).

I was housed in the Mozaic Apartments, literally across a parking lot from Union Station. Twenty minute train ride to the hospital, didn't have to pay for parking on site. The train stop is across the street from the hospital. Some other travelers found their own housing in the Los Feliz neighborhood and walked. Like Ned said, the train and bus systems are pretty good, you can also get around really well with Lyft and Uber. I'd recommend anywhere downtown within a few blocks of a train station.

Absolutely agree, public transport in LA is excellent + this city favors riding a bicycle, but I would recommend to use special ones for city ( Best city bikes ). My cousin lives 5 miles away from me and I visit her mostly by bicycle, never had a problem with that.
