My pts mother is worried about what will happen to her childs nursing hours when her child turns 18/21. She has been told fourth hand that the hours will go from 126 down to 40 pretty much automatically. She is uncertain who to contact and states that she is getting the run around. Who should be able to to tell her? Has anyone had experience with this happening or not happening?

Are you talking about private duty nursing hours ? (insurance or medicaid)
Your question is slightly vague and the only thing I can think of is PDN..
Medicaid hours for home health care. What is PDN?

We have a couple (I think three) patients who have turned 21. They got a court order by an advocacy atty.
Might want to try and find an advocate atty in your area. PDN hours don't change until they are 21.
Good luck.
If I find the website, I'll post it.
