Can anyone tell me about units doing 32hours/week? Particularly interested in what the rotation is like, particularly for 8 hour shifts 7 day a week 24/7.

It really depends entirely on the facility you work for and their weekend requirements.
IN the old days...we only worked 8 hour shifts. We rotated 1 week of days, one week of evenings, and one week of nights. We worked every other weekend So you could work
Sun: Off
Mon: Days
Tues: Days
Wed: Off
Thurs: Days
Fri: Off
Sat: Days
Sun: Evenings
Mon: Off
Tues: evenings
Wed: off
Thurs: evenings
Fri: evenings
Sat: Off
Sun: off (but you go out that night for...)
Mon: nights
Tues: nights
Wed: nights
Thurs: Off
Fri: nights (finish up Friday morning...this depends on if the facility has nights as shift one or shift three)
Sun: off
and the process continues.
Seldom does any facility have a real set scheduled for any one nurse. The schedule will vary according to needs, vacations, LOA's and on specialty units...experience and certification levels. Holidays will change your "schedule" as well for everyone takes their turn.
Dos this help? I hated rotating and days was always locked up when I was new. I went to straight evening and also nights.
Thank you for the response. I am hoping for more than one example but the one provided is great.

I work 32 hour days in a community hospital tele floor, 8 hour shifts. I always have 2 weekdays off and work every other weekend. My weekdays off are never the same. Just an example, my schedule the next two weeks is as follows:
Sunday: on
Monday: on
Tuesday: OFF
Wednesday: on
Thursday: on
Friday: OFF
Saturday:OFF
Sunday: OFF
Tuesday: on
Wednesday: OFF
Thursday: OFF
Friday: on
Saturday: on
But, as I said... no rhyme or reason was to which weekdays I have off!
What exactly are you looking for?
You have to work 4 eight hour days per week. It is common that You will be required to work every other weekend.
Which of those days you work, and what shift, is entirely up to you, the availabilities, and your facility.
