Does anyone know of any hospitals in NYC that will pay back your loans or a portion of your loans if you commit to work with them for a certain amount of time. I have a pretty good deal of loans already from graduate school and don't want to get much more in debt and am trying to figure out how to finance my education. I would like to attend SUNY Stony Brook's Accelerated BSN program. I'm waiting to hear if I was accepted. I have also looked into working into an underserved area, but that seems to be so competitive (only 10% of people are accepted into either the scholarship or loan repayment program). If anyone knows of any hospitals that do this I would love to hear about them. I found a couple that off a little money, but not a whole lot. Or if anyone knows of any other good ways to finance school that would be awesome. Thanks!

Yes....thanks for clarifying what I said

Would anybody know why would a Federal Perkins loan cancel if you work as a nurse?

Specializes in Psychiatry.

Hmm, I'll take that info. I've already been working for 1 yr elsewhere but I'm starting to feel the bite of student loans. I'd suffer at bellevue for 2 yrs if they eat my loans.

Thanks,

Marc

I am very sure HHC pays up to 30,000 towards your tuition, books included. You don't have to work for them at all while you are in school but you have to work in any of HHC facility for at least two years after you graduate. You may PM me and i will send you the name and e mail of the person in charge of the program. Good luck.

What about for MSN if your already a RN? I went on an interview for one of their hosptials and had trouble getting a concrete answer.

hi there,

I am taking my lpn license in this fall.

I am thinking of working for hhc, so that after one year I can go to RN school (1 yr with tuition less than $30,000 at helene fuld). would you please send me the contact info for tuition reimbursement at hhc? I heard they will pay your tuition and salary while you are going school if you work for them for 2 yr afterward...

it sounds too good for me to believe. I want to know the detail and how hard to get that deal.

thank you very much!

I just posted a topic about this and then I see this topic! I just graduated LVN school and will take my boards soon. I'm in Dallas, TX right now but I plan to move to Manhattan within the year. I'm basically in the same boat as Willeford because I want to go to Helene Fuld.

If anyone has anymore info, please post or pm me!

Thank You!
