I know that UNC hired new graduates last summer, and has information regarding new graduate positions for this summer/fall on their website. I believe that Duke and WakeMed hired new graduates as well but am not positive.

Duke and UNC just hired a bunch of new grads from December cohorts... I don't think WakeMed hired external candidates for this past winter round (no clue about the rest of the year though). Duke posts new grad positions on their site at some point each month, and the UNC app is currently open for Summer/Fall 2014.
thank you. do you know if they hire associate degree prepared nurses? and also people out of state?
While UNC has not stopped hiring ADN nurses, all newly hired RNs who do not hold a BSN, or higher are required to enroll in a BSN completion program within 4 years, and complete it within 7 years of employment.
I am unsure whether Duke or Wake Med require a BSN or not.

Duke, Rex, Wake. And if you don't mind a lil commute hospitals in Fayetteville, Rocky Mount, Greenville and even Mariah Parham in Henderson NC are not that far.... a lil under an hour depending on where you plan to live in Raleigh.... Each of these hospitals are taking applications now.... Wake is on and off but they have posted 2 so far this year and they were filled immediately.
Good luck
do you have any suggests of other nursing jobs in the Raleigh area to apply to as a new grad? I understand it's very hard as a new grad with an adn to get a job in the hospital so I was wondering if anyone had any helpful suggestions. I'm from New York so I'm not too familiar with the Raleigh area but plan on moving there after graduating
If there are hospital jobs that interest you, apply for them. I don't know about Duke and WakeMed, butUNC has not stopped hiring ADN nurses. If you are offered a position, however, you will be expected to get your BSN, but you have 4 years to start and 7 years to complete it.
If you don't apply, you know what the answer will be.
Good luck with school and your relocation.
thank you. you've been very helpful
