Hello Everyone!
I am currently living in PA about to finish with a diploma in nursing in June! I am wanting to move to a different state and start all over because where I live now is just not the place for me. I am coming on here because I need help figuring out how to find the best hospitals in a different state. I am currently looking into Phoenix, San Diego, and Denver but I have no idea where I start on finding out this information. I am looking into working in anything Pediatrics (Mostly NICU or Peds ICU or labor/delivery) and Psych. I know I am looking into a hospital that does New Graduate Nurse Residency Programs. If anyone is out there working in any of these areas, I would love to hear about the different hospitals, if you like them, benefits, etc. I feel really lost in trying to figure this out and its starting to really get me down. If you don't want to message me on here, you can message me on my instagram: madellineconnors
I hope to hear from everyone soon!
Thank you so so so much!!

A diploma degree is probably a no go in California. I'll bet Denver is a good choice. Phoenix is awfully hot in the Summer. I hear the climate in Denver is great. It's a mild 4 seasons one, according to my son the snow doesn't stick around too much and there's a lot of sun in Winter. A little colder than Albuquerque.
Colorado has lots of outdoor activities.

Do you know of any good hospitals in any of those areas? I love the heat so I am okay with it during the Summer!
If you love the heat I'm sure there's something in Phoenix for you. San Diego is not a hot place because it's right on a large Bay and gets a lot of Pacific influence in the Summer. I don't know any of those areas. San Diego is ridiculously expensive real estate wise. California is generally in trouble right now, and the cost of living will probably get worse for working people.

Will you be an RN or an LVN? In any case, California is a competitive market- especially in the area you're interested in. Things are very strange now, though. Some places are absolutely desperate for staff.
I know nothing of the other two places.
I might be a good idea to start "washing" your internet persona, or just trashing it completely. A pseudonym and avatar, instead of a picture, are best when discussing anything work/career related. The smallest things can be taken out of context, and you can be hunted and destroyed as a result. Play it safe.

L&D is not Peds. The fact that you may touch a newborn for a very short period of time does not make it Peds in any way, shape, or form.

I was not comparing Pediatrics to labor and Delivery, I know they are different. My wording came out wrong so I apologize for that

I will have my RN degree but will need to obtain my BSN. Luckily, I only need about a few credits to get this and will not take long.
Do you know any information about hospitals in any of those areas? That truly is my main concern. I know I need to start applying right away but I need background information before I am even able to apply.

Sorry I misunderstood. You said you wanted to work "anything Peds" and then listed L&D. Just letting you know that if your heart is in Peds, L&D is NOT the way to go.
