Hospitals paying for tuition?

Published

Hi,

My name is Jon and I'm looking to go into a nursing-as-a-second-degree program. Does anyone know of any hospitals, especially in the DFW area, that pay tuition in exchange for a commitment to work for them upon graduation? Thank you!

Pretty much all of them - but you need to be employed there in some capacity. In my experience THR has the best tuition reimbursement. (Oh and at THR - your spouse could work there and they would pay for your schooling in return for such a committment)

I don't live in the DFW area, but I ran into something interesting when I was completing my new hire paperwork today regarding tuition reimbursment. The facility I will be working for actually pays you your regular hourly pay while you are in clinicals! I think that is awesome!! This may be the norm, but I had not heard of that before. You might want to ask about that when choosing a facility. I will be working for an IASIS Healthcare facility, I don't know if there is one in the DFW area, but you might check it out. Good luck!

I worked for Texas Health Resources (presby) while I was in school and they paid my tuition in exchange for only 6 month commitment after graduation. I don't know if it's still the same deal, though. But I agree with the other poster that probably all the area hospitals have some sort of program.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone!
