Hi everyone! I've visited a particular thread with the list of requirements for application, however, I wish to know which hospitals are currently open to hire and absorb nurses. :specs:

thanks for the reply bubblesbooboobaby.

I just want to share my experience last Tuesday, January 11.

Monday morning I received a call from Philippine Children's Medical Center, asking me to take the exam by tomorrow. I came from a 12 hours graveyard shift so I wasn't able to ask essential information regarding the exam, if it's for training/volunteer or for staff position. I went there and really expecting that we're about fifty to a hundred examinees because PCMC started accepting applications since August 2010 and I was one of the early birds who applied.

My expectation failed, we're just nine who took the exam. The training officer said that the exam is for the staff nurse position, 100-item exam for an hour and fifty percent is the passing rate but we don't have to aim a score of fifty because we would be ranked according to scores. The exam is situational, multiple choice and true and false Pedia MS/Psyche, and lastly the deadly charting, making of a research problem, health teaching and nursing procedures. I just got sad, I thought I could use my stock knowledge but it seems like it were already stuck in my college days.

The training officer went back to collect our test paper and told us that we would receive a call for the interview so that means we passed the exam but if we don't, that means we failed. I'm not sure if he said he will call within the day or by tomorrow because after we took the exam he'll check it right away so the results would be available soon.

I'm sad, I don't receive a call from them even the two nurses I befriended. I just wanted to know if some of you received a call from them to have the exam, if there are other batch that would take the exam.

Only nine applicants got a call back??! Wow! May I know when did you pass your application? Do you have any hospital experience? How about your board rating? Do you have a backer?

i called yesterday again.. i call every Monday but the same questions have the same answers.. lose my temper and told them that they should have a particular time frame on when to expect calls. i rejected some clinic nurse offers just to be in this one. let's pray guys..

to piepie0005:

I passed my application on August 10 last year then I resubmitted my application in November because I got a recommendation letter.

I was able to talk to two nurses, examinees also, one of them had a recommendation letter too and passed her resume in November, the other one hasn't any and she passed her resume in December. The rest of the examinees... I dunno.. hehe

Hi, your post is a great help. May I know when did you pass your application? Are they still accepting RN applicants? What are the requirements needed?

I'll be looking forward to your reply. Thank you so much. :)

I took the exam at PCMC last year.

they told me to call after a week for the result of my exam. unfortunately i failed.

then a week after that they called me up and told me to go to their office for an interview.

i was really confused back then because they told me i failed the exam.

when i asked my co-interviewees if they passed or failed the exam, they also told me that they failed.

in the interview, i asked the supervisor if that interview is for staff nurse position or volunteer nurse...im already working back then as a staff nurse in a smaller hospital than PCMC...she told me that's for VOLUNTEER NURSE only.

after a month they called again...i told my mom to tell them that im in the mall because im not interested anymore. after that they called me again for 3x...i didnt even bother to talk to them because i dont want to volunteer. hehe

hi guys!i just wanna ask if there is any available hospitals here in manila accepting applicant for volunteer?thanks...

Hi i'm new here.. for those who are looking for trainings, VMMC will have their training on april but they are already accepting applicants.. I just passed the boards last july 2010, are there hospitals that accept applicants for volunteer?thanks
