Hospitals in the Lehigh Valley and starting salary?

Published

So I was looking at starting salaries and found an old thread from 2009 with outdated information , I'm trying to figure out some of the recent statistics.

I know Lehigh Valley Health Network is $25.50 with shift differential depending on weekend or night.

I'm curious about St. Lukes, Sacred Heart, Reading, Blue Mountain, Geisinger, etc

Also, how are the working conditions? Do they offer new grad residency programs?

I know lehigh valley offers them to all grads, and St lukes only in certain specialities. Not sure about the others.

Any information is really appreciated, getting ready to graduate and I'll be move.

Thanks!

Any information on the Philly area would be greatly appreciated also, since I might be moving there in 1 month, I'm completely new to the Pennslyvania state if it wasn't obvious

Specializes in Cardiac Step-down, NICU.

Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Wilkes Barre, PA (unionized) offers $26.80 for new RN hires with a $1.50 night shift differential. It is similar in Danville (non-union). They do offer a new grad residency program at both hospitals. Every other weekend and holiday is standard. Good benefits, decent health insurance options.

Specializes in OR.

Does anyone know about Penn State Hershey salaries? I am applying to there nurse residency program as a new graduate but I will be moving from Virginia. Just curious to see how it stacks up against Lehigh Valley since that is the other hospital system I was looking at as well. Thanks everyone!

I like Glassdoor, take with grain of salt, since anyone can say anything.
