I'm looking for opinions on hospice EMR software. My company will be purchasing a program in a few months & I learned today that I ultimately get to pick what we will be using! Advice, opinions, specific companies to avoid?
I know this thread is over 2 years old but I wanted to comment that MUMMS software sucks! The hospice that I work for is using and has always used MUMMS. It runs out of Firefox and you cannot update beyond Firefox 12 which is a security problem in my opinion. It is also very slow recently and takes support a long time to respond to a problem.
The hospice I work for is now looking into changing our EMR to either Consolo or Brightree which is why I happened upon this thread. Is it true that with Brightree you can work on an iPad?
Thanks!
Linda
lpoore - Brightree staff are very helpful, we did look to switching from Allscripts to Brightree. It does run on iPad and has a lot to offer. There isn't a 'perfect' EMR out there. I have a feeling hospice is moving towards a more standardized charting process (think OASIS). You said you are using Mumms, has your agency made the move to Hummingbird? I saw a demo and it really impressed me but i haven't heard if it's live yet.

What I liked about Suncoast is that the software was designed to be used specifically in hospice, not homecare software that is tweaked to work in that environment on some level.
