Horrible feeling after taking the Nclex

Published

Hello Everyone,

I took the Nclex this afternoon. I've never felt this horrible. I was confident before sitting for the exam but I felt like everything I knew went out the door during the exam.

I used Kaplan to prepare. My grades were consistent with the Question Trainers scoring in the high 50's on Trainer 1-5. On trainers 6 & 7, I received 63 and 64, respectively && I got a 64 on the Readiness exam and my score for the Qbank was a 60.

I only used Kaplan to prepare.

I felt so horrible I could not eat, or focus on anything. I was in tears for the most part. I tried the Pearson's trick, and after many attempts, I received the "good pop up" --- I am feeling a lot better. Yet, I am a little skeptic.

How accurate is the "Good Pop Up?"

Im just so nervous that I think I may take my xanax and slip with my pajamas inside out for goodluck.

its bad enough im basing my nclex results off of a Magic 8 ball lol

I feel the same way nervous anxious especially because I been doing kaplan and have gotten 48 56, 54, 60,68, and go back down I don't knw what to do anymore:( when I review the rationales the correct answer was the first choice but then I second guess myself and change it. Ir seems like everytime I finish the test faster I do better then when I take my time! Anyone recommend Saunders or nclex 4000?

ahhh susie, that's how i was!!! i talked with my ati tutor and she recommended this.. put on a rubberband around your wrist. when you feel like you are going to change your answer snap that rubberband and dont change it, click next. my scores went up 10 points. do not second guess your gut. as for your scores, theyre improving! don't beat yourself up

i am using saunders to brush up on content, i like it a lot! it really is helping me clarify a lot of things, i have the comprehensive review, not the q&a, it really is helping me with infection control which is my #1 worry because how a lot of feedback about the nclex is that it has a lot of infection control. it goes into the basics a lot and really, it clicks. don't memorize it, just understand it. it did so much for me with understanding s/sx of electrolyte imbalances and it helps even so much more with lab values!

Thanks for the tips rach:) I will try them. It's just a terrifying feeling to imagine not passing especially when I have always been horrible with test.

Trust me, i know your feelings, I live on this site begging for reassurance from people haha

Just breathe, read rationales, don't overload yourself, take your time, GO WITH YOUR GUT

I know. Definitely know your classification - and like the main side effects. I know, the videos are very long, but I tried to listen to it because I'm somewhat an auditory learner. I was lucky to get some of the drugs on the Nclex that Kaplan prepared us for in the Question trainers and Qbank.

By the way, throughout nursing school I always changed my answers - and I would go from correct to incorrect. That's a really good tip Rach10388!

At this point, believe in yourself. Breathe! Do some meditation. You know this stuff. Have the confidence, you already have the knowledge, you will be fine.

Good luck with your official results.

thank you very much :) I will be receiving the official results tomorrow!

I don't even know where to get started for prepping with the pharm though, so I do flashcards? What do you recommend??

So I'll do thee endings like lol = betablocker, etc.. And then do side effects... My fear is about "when should this person take this medication blahblahblah" should I focus on that? should i focus on contraindications?

Rach10388 how long you been preparing for the test?

You review every book I know and I cant go that fast! How do you do it??
