After 5 years of working as a nurses aid and 4 years of working as an LPN I finally graduated with my RN. Upon graduation I lost the position I had as an LPN, a job that I loved having and genuinely enjoyed my job and cared for my coworkers. As an RN I began working in an cardiac unit of a hospital. I have never felt so unwelcome and hazed. Any suggestions or experiences that may help would be greatly appreciated. I can't transfer units until March. Thanks!

I'm curious about what you mean by unwelcome and hazed. Have some examples you can share? It is not uncommon for established nurses to be wary of new nurses- you're an unknown, and we want to make sure that you know your stuff or will at least ask when you don't. Are you putting yourself out there as someone who wants to learn? Do you recognize that you don't know everything you need to know and ask for help when needed, especially before a patient's condition deteriorates and when you think something just isn't right with a patient? Are you yourself being friendly to the established staff?

Yeah, what are they doing to make you feel bullied? I myself started on a CV intermediate floor this spring, coming from the OR (so not a new nurse, but new to floor nursing).
