Hey! I'm looking into applying soon for the spring 2020 semester and was just curious how the program is? Also if they mostly just take the PAX RN score into consideration and not GPA. What was everyones scores when they applied and how did you study for the PAX?

now I'm wondering why you can't view the nursing admission packet. wonder when it'll be back up. Weird seeing as October 30th is quickly approaching

Yeah i know, the handbook has been gone for a while too. But they don't really change by very much, you can pick one up in the office if you need one.

if anyone goes to todays conference let me know how it goes!

We went over the admissions packet and asked questions. Applications were passed out at the end and you were free to take it with you or turn it in if you had everything with you.

I went to conference today and we went over with the admission packet.

I know I can’t make into the program this fall because I need to take my PAX RN exam. I just got my red book the other day (Review Guide for RN Pre-entrance Exam 3rd Edition), then my nurse aide course will be in October.

Good luck to anyone in the program

@TeamGreatness did you take your NLN Pax yet, how was it?! Any advice? Fingers crossed you did great, which I'm sure u did!!

Hello there I have not taken it yet I will take it on the 18th I know it’s cutting it close but it’s before the deadline

you got this!! I'm taking mine again on the 3rd. I got a 120 the first time but I need a 130 bc I haven't taken the ACTs so fingers crossed I get over a 130. I've been studying like a crazy person. note cards and all. lmao make sure you study the red book, you will see a lot of similarities, and I even had an exact passage and questions from the book on my test!! Also if you're good at math don't spend too much time focused on math because they allow calculators which I did not know the first time around and mostly studied math bc I thought id have to do all the computations by hand.

I don’t have ACT score of 20. I will need to get 130 on PAX exam.

Unless if I want to retake my ACT and get a score of 20 or higher and get a score of 120 or higher on PAX exam.

I’m currently taking my prerequisites for nursing

i think I replied to a comment that was not address for me, oooppps

@Millafurtado Thank you for the tips! I have been studying a lot too but is still worried about the vocabulary and physic part.. when you say the red book, do you mean the online material NLN now have instead? The practice exams? Also, how was the vocabulary words on the test? How do you recommend studying for them? Thank youu!!

I didn't really study for vocabulary, I didn't get many words I didn't know. The hardest part is the time in that section which ultimately made me do bad. I got a 60% in reading and 100% in math and 45% in science so that's why I've been focusing on science. and im not sure, I have the actual nln red book but idk if its the same as the online stuff.

if you're worried about vocab, id just study prefixes!

I didn't get to answer very many vocab questions because I thought the vocab was a new section. (I should have been listening when the lady went over this) I wasn't sure if they allowed calculators or not, so I spent all my time reviewing math. I'm worried that a 120 isn't a good enough score now that I've heard they only admit around 40 students into the program. I think I'll just bite the bullet and retest.
