Hi everyone!
I am excited to say that I have a phone interview with DaVita Dialysis next week but I was hoping somebody here would have some advice for me. What kind of questions would they ask? Would it be pretty informal? I'm really very hopeful because I've had zero luck finding a nursing job that is monitoring-friendly.....you know what I mean. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Happy New Year to you all!!!

I had a phone interview with DaVita over the summer. If you Google "DaVita phone interview" you will find lots of advice on this topic, much of it from this forum. My advice would be to figure out a good line as to why you want to switch to dialysis nursing and why DaVita as a company appeals to you because that was the majority of my phone interview.
I hope someone in a monitoring program who has been hired through DaVita has a more optimistic story than I have. I had two nurse managers interested in me from DaVita when I applied. Did the formal interview/shadow process at one clinic but the nurse manager was completely uninterested when I said that I was in my state's monitoring program. He was actually almost MAD at me. He basically insinuated that I was just looking to work off my key restriction and it wasn't worth the trouble of training me. I obviously did not get that job. I exchanged emails with another nurse manager who initially wanted to bring me in for an interview but the emails stopped after I was upfront about being in my state's monitoring program. {Didn't want a repeat of my last interview.}
Do you have mandatory meetings with other nurses in your monitoring program and/or go to meetings for medical professionals? Where are these people getting hired?
No, unfortunately I don't have any mandatory meetings that I need to attend (aside from AA/NA) nor any meetings with other health professionals in my area. Perhaps those meetings exist in the bigger cities almost 3 hours from where I live. Thank you for your feedback. I hope it goes well, but I'm not counting on it.....because I know finding a job who will accept my restrictions is very hard. All I can do is be prepared and be honest.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you! Definitely sell yourself and why you see yourself working for DaVita for a looong time. The DaVita website has a lot of information about the company's culture/values, might help you come up with a couple of good keywords to throw out there. The phone interview is just with a HR drone somewhere at their hiring center in Colorado, I think?
I know there is one woman in my mandatory meeting group who is doing inpatient dialysis through another dialysis company and a woman I was in rehab with worked off her first monitoring program with DaVita a few years ago so it is possible.
Is your monitoring program the sort where you could call and possibly ask if they know of anywhere in state that is specifically program-friendly? As in, they actually HIRE program nurses? Honestly, if it weren't for the other woman in my mandatory monthly program meeting, I wouldn't have ever guessed that the state mental hospital and Express Scripts hire so many of us in Kansas.
