Hello all! I am in the process of applying to Georgia Highlands Fall 2012 Nursing program. I am wondering if anyone else is in the same boat? I have all A's and B's in all of pre reqs, 2 Bs and an A in the sciences, which makes me nervous. I also didn't do that well on the TEAS. I got an 81, but did extremely well in the science part of it. I had an 1050 on my SAT'S from back in 2002. I did the worksheet total that they have online, and my score was an 1131. I am wondering if this is enough? But the worksheet does not include the TEAS calculation.
Any info or comments would be great! I just want to know where I stand
I got my passport photo done today too! I mailed that off today. And got my first Hep B vaccine ( they can do it with Hep A together, but it hurts!), and did my first TB skin test. I signed up for my backgroud check and paid for it, but I won't have time to take off more work this week to go do the drug test. That is first thing next week.
Slowly but surely getting everything done on the list! I am so excited to meet all you ladies and gents! I am going to the new student orientation on July 10th. Anyone else?
helloeveryone!! i am new to the site. i am on board for nursing at ghc in the fall.woohoo! congratulations to everyone who made it. i hope to get to know many ofyou in person. i have been busting my tail to satisfy all of the requirementsfor our orientation on the 19th. i should be complete by next thursday. *deepsigh* i hope you all are finding the time and energy (and patience) to jump ournewest hurdle. i am very annoyed that they didn't give us more informationabout what to expect this fall. i'm sure it is to avoid a whole bunch of phonecalls with unnecessary questions... since we have a checklist to keep us busyuntil orientation (first things first, right?). unfortunately, i'm missing atleast one virtue that makes me want to know stuff "yesterday".
I've started a facebook page:Georgia Highlands ADN Class of 2014 I've made it a secret group for reasons I will explain later =). Join if you will be part of this class!!
Ugh, still freaking about getting everything done! Went to health dept in Woodstock yesterday. When I called I was told varicella titer was $16.50. When I got there it had magically jumped up to $58 so I didn't get it. Can I go to Cobb county health dept if I don't live in Cobb County? Can't get the varicella vaccine right now b/c I'm in the process of getting the TB tests (First one done, yay, I don't have TB) Health dept. was also out of Hepb vaccine ugh! I haven't filled out the immunization sheet for the college either. Has anyone else not done this? I can't get the tdap either until I finish the next tb test. This is so annoying! I also need to schedule for a cpr class. Hope I can get this stuff done!

Ok so today I got my passport photo, took my drug test for my background check, and got my first tb test. Trying to decide if I should get a varicella titer done. I had a very mild case of chicken pox as a child so who knows if it gave me immunity. The NP who did my tb test says I cant get any live vaccines while I'm getting the tb testing done. Anyone found a cheap place for titers, or vaccines for that matter?
