Homeopathy

Hello everyone!

I am interested in homeopathy, and think I would like to practice it. However, it seems you can't do that without a legal license. I can easily (well, perhaps not easily, but cheaply) become a CNA through my local community college. Would that give me the ability in North Carolina to distribute homeopathical substances? I know laws vary from state to state, I have no idea how to find out about North Carolina. I dont' expect you to know that part. But generally, do I have to get any sort of license to operate a homeopathy business? RN, MD.... does anyone know? I will contact AHNA (got that from a previous post) as well. I'd appreciate any info on that. I certainly don't want to waste any money I don't have on an unnecessary education, or one I can't put to use the way I'd like to.

Oh, and if someone does reply, I'd appreciate it sent in an email too, in case I lose the link to this post. ^__^

Thanks!!

Joseph

It is amazing to me at this point in time that there are still the naysayers spewing forth their venomous negativity as a few of the posts portrayed.

I think venomous negativity is something of a highly charged response to a few dissenting opinions.

I have a question - how does the water know what it is meant to be carrying? Why does it remember the active ingredient rather than the effluent, antibiotic residue, run off, industrial pollution or coffee it has also carried?

One must understand that Homeopathy is a "vibrational" medicine and does not make sense to the usual way that we think, especially with the concepts of dilution and strength. It is true that the more the remedy is diluted and "succussed" (or shaken), it actually becomes "stronger" in it's effects, but also works more on the emotional and spiritual body and somewhat less on actual physical symptoms...this is like when someone takes their "constitutional" remedy which can be in a 200C and even L and M levels. Obviously this is where the skill of the practitioner comes in in completing a very comprehensive evaluation. This is also certainly different when taking your own "case" when you have a cold or back ache and you want a single remedy that is the correct one for that particular ailment. The whole of homeopathy is just difficult for our brains to wrap around...like how a remedy of "Coffea cruda" can be used when someone can't sleep! Or for that matter how Rhus Tox which is made from Poison Ivy can be used for a case of Poison Ivy or a certain kind of cold or for joint issues! But isn't it worth trying something that is so non-toxic rather than attacking the body with other powerful drugs with side-effects?!

I have been a practitioner for many years and have dealt with many closed minds (especially the MD's!) and have tried to remind the naysayers that fear and ignorance are always detrimental to any healing. So yes, I have seen and heard the "venomous negativity" but luckily see that changing...or at least I live in an area where there are lots of Naturopaths and CAM practitioners. Heck, I even found out that my 91 year old father was able to buy a Leg Cramp remedy in rural North Carolina and he said it was the only thing that worked!!! And our 13 year old Lab's hind quarters arthritis responds well to the remedy that I concocted for her depending on her symptoms. Not to mention some Rescue Remedy in her water! Just amazing..............

I believe you. My point was that I hadn't seen any "venomous negativity" on this thread. People who don't agree with you or whose opinions are different, or who ask questions about a topic with which they are less familiar (or affiliated with) than you are not necessarily fearful ignorant naysayers nor close minded. One needs to navigate that fine line between being open minded and having ones' brain fall out.

But surely that doesn't mean we should just throw up our hands and not try to understand.

Leaving aside the question of dilution and strength of effect, I'd still like to know how the remedy knows whcih element is supposed to be utilised by the consumer - the intentional active ingredient versus the other substances the water has been in contact with.

Absolutely. Unless it means I get sicker in the meantime because I'm not using something that's effective. Which is why I'd like more information.
