I understand in California students must have their healthcare providers sign an authorization for medication form for prescription and OTC meds if taken during school hours. Does the same rule apply for homeopathic medicine?

Since we can't use Neosporin without an order, I'm saying . . . yes. You need an order. :)

in my state homeopathic meds aren't pertmitted to be given in school. Meds given must be FDA approved.
That too.
When I first read homeopathic I was thinking OTC stuff from health food stores . . . . .

I have a K student who takes homeopathic ADHD medication. I was very hesitant about giving this to her. My nurse supervisor for the school system said that we could give it to her, but we had to have her doctor sign off on it because it's given every day, even though it's an OTC med. So, doctor signed off on it and child gets medication every day. (I'm in TN)

I can't speak for California, but here in NE, for the purposes of school health (physicals, medical exemptions from vaccines and medication authorizations) the signature must come from an MD, DO, PA-C or APN.
Homeopathic and chiropractic physicians do not meet the criteria here for these functions, so unless one of the above ordered a homeopathic medication, we would not and could not give it in our district.
Same here Jolie.
