Holyoke c.c. Or Becker college?

So I've been accepted to both schools for adn. I'm having a hard time choosing.

I graduated with my aa in liberal arts from hcc, so I'm familiar with the school. However I do know they use outdated classrooms and equipment which kind of stinks. Parking is miserable. However they are the cheapest! That is attractive to me.

on the other hand, Becker has the highest nclex pass rate around at. 100%. Job placement rate is 98% after graduation. When I pass my boards I would go right into the rn-bsn program also at becker. However becker is double the price of hcc, even after my 13k scholarship!!

can anyone speak on behalf of ether schools? Did you receive cc education or private education? Is the fact that I would automatically be accepted to rn-bsn a good enough reason to go with the expensive but highly regarded nursing program? Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks!!!!

The nclex and job placement rate alone would make Becker worth it for me. The outdated equipment is a bummer as well.

Also, look at where clinical is and what the locations have to offer. If your clinicals at HCC are only around Holyoke I would go with Becker-you aren't going to be exposed to much.

Congrats on your acceptance! I agree with penholder, the board passing rate as well as job placement sells Becker (How do you find out their job placement rates for each program?). Your decision depends on your financial background. Do you have current student loan debt? If so is it much? If you have little to no debt then Becker would seem the more profitable choice for you in the long run because you can qualify for federal loans which are very lenient in the repaying programs (there are numerous repayment options out there for federal loans including student loan forgiveness program which I am currently in now). I know the cheaper option is always luring especially if you have previous debt that is enormous like other students I know; it all depends on what you are comfortable with financially now and in the future. GL!

Thank you both very much for taking the time to reply to my post. I only have about 1500 in debt from hcc.

Other people in my life are encouraging becker. They said I would get a great job and be able to pay back the loans easily. Let's hope! The clinical sites are umass memorial, st Vincent, and harrigton.

I think i will send my deposit in and look at it as a sound investment in my future. Thanks again!

Oh and I didn't find out job placement rates of all programs but becker made sure to point the pass rate and job placement out

Are you still going to becker? I am going in the fall, super excited!

Hey I graduated from Becker from their adn program and jumped right into their rn-BSN program which I finished this past December. They do in fact have a 100% NCLEX pass rate. Almost everyone in my class finished right at 75 questions. I felt very prepared for the NCLEX after all nursing exams and ATI (which can be challenging at time) just study hard and you will do fine! GOODLUCK with nursing 3! That's the hardest semester.

That's awesome! Really good to hear about you great experience at becker and the pass rate is really impressive.

Thanks for sharing maRN! Really great to hear positive feedback

Hi, I'm wondering if you could provide some insight as to what the application process is like for Becker College?

I'm a non-traditional student and I've been out of high school for over a decade -- the SAT has also reformatted since I've taken it are the requirements the same? Will Becker accept college credits from other institutions?

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks!
